Next year brings a major turning point for the Custom Line bosses who plan to embark on what they describe as a new course to the future. In 12 months’ time, they will, of course, be showcasing the new flagship of their semi-displacement series, the Navetta 37, of which we got a first tantalising glimpse at the Yacht&Brokerage Show in Miami Beach this year. The launch of the Navetta 37 will brilliantly crown the 20th anniversary celebrations for the Custom Line which debuted in 1996 and now has two separate series to its credit: planing (97’, 108’ and 124’ models) and semi-displacement (the Navetta 28 New and Navetta 33 Crescendo soon to be joined by the aforementioned Navetta 37).
With clean lines, beautifully balanced volumes, meticulous detailing and a design crafted by the Ferretti Group’s Strategic Product Committee, the Engineering Division and Zuccon International Project, the Navetta 37 sports a completely new, highly efficient hull that somehow manages to combine a sense of lightness and simplicity with one of immense power and solidity. This impression is enhanced by a high, imposing bow, a design choice that has amplified the interior volumes and permitted the inclusion of an owner’s suite that takes up the whole of the foredeck.
Even more impressively, the latter’s dimensions are comparable to those of a megayacht as it encompasses an office, bedroom, walk-in closet and generous bathroom that can be organised and fitted out to suit the individual owners’ whims. The whole area is also bathed in natural daylight thanks to the large side windows that are one of the signatures of the Navetta 37’s exterior design as well as an architectural feature in the saloon on the main deck too. In fact, there is a choice of having both side walls in floor-to-ceiling glass which would open on to side walkways to create a sense of very direct contact with the sea. Still on the main deck, the lobby, the stairs linking the various decks, a corridor and the galley all precede the owner’s suite. This arrangement, like all the spaces on the Navetta 37, guarantees both absolute privacy to guests and freedom of movement to the crew as they go about their daily tasks. The four guest staterooms are well on a par with most suites too.
The upper deck is given over entirely to relaxation and communal life. It has a large panoramic cockpit and an inside saloon with large windows for unfettered sea views. Further forward is alfresco lounging area. A hydromassage tub can be fitted here instead of a garage for an extra tender – there’s already in the transom (the ultra-convenient Dual Mode Transom (DMT) opens the hatch both upwards and downwards to create a beach area). Lastly, the sun deck has sunning and seating areas, a galley and a hydromassage tub forward of a sleekly aerodynamic hard top that shelters the lounge area without impacting on the streamlined, ultra-clean profile of the new Custom Line semi-displacement flagship.
